There are currently flights to Paro (PBH) airport from Singapore, Bangkok, Kathmandu ( Nepal), and New Delhi.
For Singaporeans who want to enjoy time savings, can opt for the flight from Singapore, departing every Sunday, and Thursday. These two flights go via Kolkata, by making one stop there. The airfare is estimated to be about $1625 including taxes.
Now, if you have constraints about your leave, and like the flexibility of flying any other day, and returning other day, the next best option is to fly via Bangkok. As the flight leaves from Bangkok early in the morning, you would need to take a late afternoon flight to Bangkok, stay one night at the airport hotel, and then connect for your morning flight to Paro.
The flights from Bangkok for this period from October till March next year, leave from Bangkok, at about 07 20 am in the morning, with two other days leaving at a later time of 08 55 am. All these flights go via Dakka, Guwahati ( India).
For other international traveller, you will likely fly to Delhi, or Kathmandu for your flight to Paro. Thus, it is wonderful to combine a trip to visit Taj Mahal, and Jaipur in India before your onward journey to Bhutan, the Land of Happiness. As for those who fly via Kathmandu, you could enjoy the lovely Kathmandu Valley, and perhaps extend your trip to Pokhara, the beautiful lakeside resort town, in Nepal. On a clear day in the year end, you will enjoy fantastic views of the Himalayas ! Go for the experience of the lifetime by opting to take the flight over Mount Everest.
I would always encourage my passengers to include both Nepal, and Bhutan in one trip, so that they get to enjoy savings from flying back to either country another time. after all, these two beautiful lands of the Himalayas have so much to offer, and their culture, and heritage will indeed make a most memorable trip for anyone there.
I had been to Nepal thrice, and Bhutan twice. But I still love to go back there to do my trekking! This year, I intend to cover the Everest Base Camp Trek, and then attempt the Snowman Trek (Toughest trek in the world in the next five years time)
